Snow Leopard Update:
First, apology to all, but I am encountering some problem when I try to comment on someone's entry; on a rare occasion, I can, but 99% of the time I can't. Maybe someday I will figure out how to blog.
Thanks to all for comments on my dilemma with fabric showing with the black background. I finally decided to frog the 1700 stitches I had done, and I am so glad that I went this direction. I am using three threads (over 2 on 28 count) and I am much more pleased with the appearance.
I now have almost 2,000 stitches done and finally am getting to a new color (not black). I will post a picture in a week or so -- right now it is just a black background.
This is my first HAED, but darn it is really addicting. I keep getting drawn to it, and have greatly reduced the amount of time I am devoting to my other two WIPs, and it is painful to take time away to do things like dishes, dusting, laundry, etc. Just what I didn't need, a new addiction. This is fun (now, remind me I said that six months from now when I am weary of this project).
Keep putting up your progress notes and photos; and if I can ever figure out how to comment, I will; but know I read and enjoy each and every one.
We are both new to HAED, it sounds like. Also, I am not very experienced at blogging. I have to ask a great deal of questions. Looking forward to seeing your picture when you get it posted. I toyed with the idea of doing my HAED on something other than 25ct over 1, but I thought I would at least do this one that way, and if I don't like it, if and when do another HAED, do it differently.
ReplyDeleteI tried a little with the 25 count but it gave me fits, so thought I would do the 28 count over 2 (tho larger) for my first attempt; however, I want to do the next one on 25 over 1. I now can view comments and respond to the ones to me, but can't figure out how to comment on someone else's post -- guess I'll figure it out eventually.
DeleteI'm glad you have found the coverage you want, now you can just sit back & enjoy stitching Snow Leopard. I'm also new to HAED's and loving them. I'm stitching mine on 18 ct. Aida.

Wow, your HAED is going to be bigger than mine. How are you handling the excess fabric?
DeleteWelcome to the addiction! :) These charts are really hard to put down. I think maybe it's because there is so much detail to them and it's fun to see just a bit more of something appear before you stop stitching. Looking forward to seeing a picture of your snow leopard :)
ReplyDeleteI am so surprised how hard they are to put down. But, I am also doing L&L Isabella's Garden and need to pick that up on occasion so I can actually see something. I have over 3000 stitches so far on my first page and have only used two colors, so I will be glad when I can start to see something emerge from my stitching.
