Another question

My material, threads and needles arrived today that I ordered last week. Yippee!!!

Now my question to you is...

I know that my material piece needs to be cut 22.5 x 19.5, my pattern is 450 x 373, and I want to have 2" on every side for framing purposes, so, I need to start this, if start in upper left corner, 2" in from left and down from top, right?

Just want to ask before I do any cutting on the material sent me. I am thinking of putting a dot, with one of those pens that the mark goes away shortly after made, where I am wanting to start.

Does this make sense?

  1. Yes that makes sense and there is no harm in having several inches extra all round either just to be on the safe side :-)

  2. I don't plan on cutting mine until the project is done. They were kind enough to sew about the edges for me so I don't want to mess with it. I did grid mine up though. If you go to the FAQ on HAED site there are a LOT of helpful tips. Good Luck!

  3. I wasn't going to cut mine until I was ready either. Do you think I should grid the pattern? I have never gridded, I know how, I believe, I just haven't. The gridding is the marking of the 10 x 10 squares, right?

  4. Hi Lyn,
Yes griding it marking the 10 x 10 squares. Only grid if you feel it will help you and make the counting easier for you.
